SITUATION
The town of Lake Lure hired Glover Construction to remove sediment that had accumulated from a large rainfall event and was blocking access to the public resort area of the lake.
The lake elevation was lowered 13 feet to give Euro 2024Glover access to the sediment before work began.
SOLUTION
Glover Construction removed more than 250,000 cubic yards of sediment using large excavators and hauled it to several different disposal sites.
The sites were seeded and restored to a usable condition.
OUTCOME
- The lake was returned Euro 2024to its normal elevation, all well before the start of the tourist season.
